Reorganization of County Legal Department
The reorganization of the County Attorney's Office under the leadership of James F. "Rik" Stevens has resulted in :
Greater availability of legal advice and interpretations before and during meetings and negotiations.
Access to a stronger litigation team.
Reduction of legal action against the county.
Improved oversight of appropriated funds
After reaching an agreement with Alamance Burlington School System,:
Projects are being completed in a timely manner (before costs escalate) and project status is being reported to the Board of County Commissioners.
Preventative maintenance is being scheduled to extend the life of equipment and prevent surprise crisis expenditures,
By developing a collaboration of private business, nonprofit entities, and government agencies, we were able to affordably fund, design and build the Alamance Behavioral Health Center.
When the Center opens, it will:
Allow citizens with mental health issues to receive appropriate care during crisis episodes instead of adding to crowded Emergency Rooms or Jails.
Provide access to Behavioral Health services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Resources to establish ongoing care will be available on site.
Reduce the time spent by first responders and law enforcement waiting for care to be available
Reduce the use of jail space for citizens who need effective treatment
